Goodbye Portimão
A sunset seafood sendoff
For our last night here, we decided to go all out with a fancy seafood dinner at Carvi.
We had a pair of fabulous servers who took such good care of us. They recommended a very nice bottle of green wine, and when we ordered grilled prawns as a starter, they said “maybe just one?”
When the single prawn came to the table and was the size of a toddler’s leg, we knew that was the right call. They brought us melted butter with cloves of garlic mashed up in it, hot sauce, and lemons to squeeze over the top. OMG, so ridiculously tasty!
Next up was a whole grilled sea bass, steamed vegetables, and boiled potatoes. Everything was delicious and we were happy and stuffed when we left.
We took a walk along the riverfront before getting our Uber back to the beach. It had been a hot day, but at 9:30 pm the weather was perfect for a post-dinner walk.
After one last visit to the beach lookout across the street from our apartment, we called it a night. We’re giving this first leg of our trip an A+. We’ll miss you, Portimão, and we’ll be back!
Today we’re heading to Porto…
